Bamboobies donated 8,000 nursing pads and sponsored the event in Denver.
Why cloth diapers? Bamboobies nursing pads are made with some of the same great fabrics as cloth diapers: super absorbent bamboo, hemp and organic cotton – and they have the same water barrier – we call it a milk-proof layer. Mothers who wont’ put chemical diapers near their newborn’s bottom certainly want a chemical free, environmentally safe and soft nursing pad. And washable pads ave money like washable diapers do!
Best of all Kerry got to go to the event and meet lots of other Denver mothers and talk breastfeeding and baby wearing with pals like Jessica from The Leaky Boob and Jamie The Baby Guy!
Bamboobies sponsors these great resources for new parents and knows they make a difference for new mothers across the country on topics ranging from breastfeeding, nursing pads and nursing bras to strollers and carseat selection. Big picture topics like attachment parenting and parenting in general are always tackled with humor and open discussions – and lots of laughs were had at this event! Especially when Jamie was fitted with the world’s largest cloth diaper himself!
Here are some fun pictures Kerry took while she was there.
mommies and daddies holding up babies for the camera getting ready to change their cloth diapers…. moments before the Great Cloth Diaper Change
Fun times meeting other mothers who value baby-wearing, attachment parenting (I saw 1 stroller all day), breastfeeding, and earth-friendly products…
Here is a little more about the event:
Judy Aagard’s desire to celebrate Earth Day by hosting a family event for the Tiny Tots community quickly morphed into a dream to set a Guinness World Record for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously. Shortly thereafter, The Great Cloth Diaper ChangeSM 2011 was conceived and organized by a small group of cloth diaper enthusiasts that were eager to demonstrate that cloth diapers are a real option for today’s families.
In 2013, we will be holding a slightly different event. This year, we will be changing the diapers at 11am LOCAL TIME, so the change will roll around the world. In order to make this event a success and increase awareness of reusable cloth diapers, we need your participation! Please plan to attend or host an event in your community!
Hope to see you all or hear about you going to a local event in your town next year. Lots of great free gear and advice and a chance to mingle with other new mothers in build your community – check it out!
