Thanks to Amanda Larson of Coping With Frugality for a wonderful review of our washable nursing pads!
We are a cloth family. I love our cloth diapers, we use cloth napkins, and we clean with cloth rags rather than paper towels. When I was getting close to my due date my friend Courtney from Joy of Momma Joyner told me about her favorite cloth nursing pads ~ Bamboobies. We both live in Colorado so I was excited when I realized that Bamboobies was a local Colorado company.
Bamboobies was founded by a nursing mother of three from Boulder, CO who was in need of a more functional and stylish solution to her breastfeeding needs. She realized that she was leaking through pads, even thick washable cotton pads and tired of having leak through spots on her shirts. Disposables were expensive and not eco-friendly.
Bamboobies are a eco-friendly and cost effective solution to disposable nursing pads. The average women spends over $250 on disposable pads during the course nursing; whereas you can get a 3 pack of regular Bamboobies and 1 pair of overnight for a total of $29!! That’s an amazing difference.
Bamboobies makes the thinnest and thickest pads on the market with their regular and overnight pads. I received both to review and instantly fell in love. They are ultra-soft which was especially important to me during those first few weeks when my nipples were super sensitive. I had a horrible experience with other cloth nursing pads where the fabric actually stuck to my nipples ~ OUCH! I am so happy Courtney turned me on to Bamboobies.
Not only are they super soft but they are also ultra thin and very absorbent. They are made out of cotton, bamboo velour and hemp. After several washes they are still just as soft and absorbent as ever.
